Full Days in Paris
Your Day in Paris,
Written from Morning to Evening
Two neighborhoods, two stories, and a long French lunch in between.
One guide, one day, nothing to organize.
Morning, lunch, afternoon
Morning: a first walk, a first chapter of Paris history.
Lunch: a seated tasting at a wine shop, included and chosen by me.
Prefer a proper restaurant? I will book the table, the meal is on you.
Afternoon: a second chapter, in a different neighborhood or on the river.
Two days, for example
Day One: Love, Power and the River
Morning in the North Marais, with the love story of Napoleon and Josephine. Tasting lunch at a caviste. Afternoon aboard a private boat on the Seine, with tastings on board and a champagne bottle opened with a saber. (Day One includes the Seine cruise option.)
Day Two: Founding Fathers and Impressionists
Morning in Saint Germain des Prés, on the trail of Franklin, Jefferson and Adams, ending where the United States officially became a nation. Tasting lunch. Afternoon in Montmartre, far from the crowds, among the painters who changed art forever.
Build your day
Ten experiences to choose from. Mix any morning with any afternoon.
The North Marais: Napoleon and Josephine
A young Corsican officer, a Creole widow with a past, and love letters so fiery they still make readers blush. The romance that crowned an empire, told between pastry shops and chocolate makers.
The South Marais: Victor Hugo and the birth of Les Misérables
For sixteen years, Victor Hugo lived on the most beautiful square in Paris, and there the novel that would make the world weep began to take shape. His streets, his loves, his secrets.
Saint Germain: the Founding Fathers in Paris
Franklin, Jefferson and Adams drank, plotted and charmed their way across the Left Bank. The walk ends where the United States officially became a nation.
Montmartre: the Impressionists, off the beaten path
The Montmartre the tour buses never reach: quiet staircases, a working vineyard, and the corners where painters starved, drank and changed art forever.
Montorgueil: the living heart of Paris
One of the last true market streets of central Paris. Locals still queue here for bread, oysters and cheese, and at the pastry house a royal pastry chef opened in 1730.
The Covered Passages: Paris invents shopping
Long before the mall, Paris built glass roofed galleries where the fashionable came to shop, flirt and hide from the rain. Mosaic floors, old bookshops, and the staircase that once led to Vidocq's apartment, the convict who became chief of police.
Medieval Paris: when faith collided with revolution
Notre Dame reborn from fire, the Sainte Chapelle and its walls of stained glass, and the Conciergerie, where Marie Antoinette spent her last weeks. Eight centuries of faith and fury on one small island.
Private Seine Cruise
A private boat, a saber, a bottle of champagne, and Paris gliding by. Two hours of tastings and stories between the bridges.
Grand Cru Cruise
A vintage boat, rare wines, exceptional products. The Seine as your private dining room.
Château de Fontainebleau, a full day trip
The hunting palace of French kings for eight centuries, and the place Napoleon called the true home of kings. A queen who had her favorite executed in a gallery, an emperor who gave up his throne in the courtyard, and a ghostly huntsman said to haunt the forest.
